Official Race Rules
By participating in the RAD RACE LAST WO/MAN STANDING, you agree to abide by these rules as well as the full Terms & Conditions. Please review the following guidelines carefully to ensure a safe, fair, and competitive experience.
1. Registration and Pre-Race Procedures
On-Site Check-In:
Check-in takes place on-site at the venue. Athlete check-in is open from 13:00 to 15:00.
Important: Any athlete who has not collected their starting documents by 15:00 will be excluded from the race.Free Training:
Free training sessions are available from 14:30 to 16:30.
2. Race Format and Progression
Common Rules for All Heats:
Lap Structure: Every heat is run over a predetermined number of laps (based on the number of competitors).
Lap Counter & Final Lap Signal: A lap counter will display the remaining laps, and once the first competitor crosses the finish line, a bell will sound to signal the start of the final lap.
Elimination: On every lap, the last rider to cross the start/finish line is eliminated.
2.1 Qualifying Rounds
Structure: Qualifying heats follow the common rules outlined above.
Advancement: Only the top four finishers in each qualifying heat will advance to the next round.
Additional Elimination: Additionally, if a qualifying group consists of more than 10 riders, the two last finishers in each round will be eliminated.
2.2 Final Rounds
Structure: Final heats also adhere to the common lap structure, including the lap counter and final lap bell.
Advancement: In each final heat, only the top four finishers will advance.
2.3 Ultimate Final
Structure & Continuation: The ultimate final is conducted using the same common rules.
Race End Condition: This final round continues until the last wo/man remain.
2.4 Post-Heat Protocol
Elimination Exit: Riders eliminated during any heat must exit the course at the designated location, as communicated during the pre-race briefing.
3. Race Interruptions, Restart, and Dispute Procedures
Race Stoppage:
If the race is halted for any reason, the race director and circuit marshals will signal the stoppage by displaying a black flag around the circuit.Restart Procedures:
Heats that are stopped will be restarted with all non-eliminated riders reassembled in a revised order as directed by race officials. Competitors must line up at the designated start/finish area.Restart Restrictions:
Athletes whose dangerous actions directly triggered a stoppage will be disqualified from restarting, at the race director’s sole discretion. Similarly, riders requiring prolonged medical attention will not be allowed to continue.Support Crew:
Athlete support personnel may not attend to riders on the track at the location of a black flag incident. They may, however, assist at the start/finish area if permitted by the race director.
4. Podium and Post-Race Procedures
Podium Reporting:
Competitors finishing in the top three of their race category must immediately proceed to the podium area following the final.Podium Ceremony:
The ceremony will commence immediately after the final race, and all podium participants are required to wear the official race kit.
5. Eligibility
Age Requirement:
Competitors must be either 16 years of age with parental consent or 18 years of age without parental consent.Riding Proficiency:
Participants must be proficient in fixed gear riding.
RAD RACE reserves the right to reject any registration that does not meet these or other eligibility requirements.
6. Equipment Regulations
Bicycle Requirements
Bike Type:
All competitors must ride a fixed gear bicycle without brakes or a freewheel.Handlebars:
Standard drop handlebars are required (with dummy hoods or new-generation bunch bars acceptable). Additionally, flat bars with a maximum width of 64cm are permitted.Foot Retention:
Riders must use a secure foot retention system (clipless pedals or foot straps).Mounted Equipment:
All mounted equipment, such as cameras or computers, must be securely attached to the bicycle.Water Bottles:
Water bottles are strictly prohibited on the bike.
Race Apparel
no Helmet, no race!
Headphones are prohibited on track.
Timing Transponder
With registration on site, each rider will be assigned a timing transponder.
The transponder must be attached to the non drive side chain stay as specified by the guidelines.
Competing without a properly installed or correctly placed transponder risks disqualification of the result.
Once eliminated, riders must return their transponder to the race marshals, who will remove it from the bike.
Race Numbers
The race number must be affixed to the right rear side of the jersey (placement in the center or on the left is not permitted).
Numbers mounted on the seatpost must remain clearly visible while the bike is in motion.
7. Conduct and Safety
Race Conduct
Unfair riding will lead to disqualification.
No Skidding Before Turns: Skidding before entering a turn is strictly forbidden.
Caution from Behind: Riders approaching from behind must exercise extra caution to avoid collisions.
Competitors must ride within their ability levels and maintain a predictable line through corners while giving adequate space to others.
Extra caution is required when passing slower competitors who have not yet exited the course.
Non-compliance with these race conduct guidelines may result in penalties or disqualification.
General Conduct
All participants are expected to behave respectfully and professionally.
Any competitor found to be intoxicated or under the influence of banned substances (e.g., cocaine, pills, performance-enhancing drugs, etc.) will face a lifetime ban from RAD RACE.
Racers must treat fellow competitors, officials, volunteers, and spectators with fairness, respect, and courtesy.
Harassment or bullying in any form is strictly prohibited. If you see something, say something!
All instructions from race officials must be followed immediately.
Riding on the course during setup is not allowed.
8. Race Flags and Signals
Finish Flag:
When the finish flag is displayed, it signals that the race is over.Black Flag:
The display of a black flag indicates that the rider is being removed from the race.
